Vikram Shakkottai

Vikram Shakkottai, M.D., Ph.D., is a neurologist-scientist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he serves as Vice Chair for Basic Research, Section Head of Movement Disorders, and Professor of Neurology. His research and clinical work focus on cerebellar ataxia, neuronal physiology, and ion-channel-based therapeutic strategies. He also holds field-level leadership roles in the ataxia research ecosystem, including Chair of the National Ataxia Foundation's Medical and Research Advisory Board and Study Co-Chair of CRC-SCA.
