Ivan Bautmans is a Belgian gerontology professor and researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he works on frailty, sarcopenia, inflammation, resistance training, and healthy ageing. He is publicly identified as leading/holding senior roles in VUB's gerontology and vitality-related research groups and as coordinating a WHO advisory group focused on healthy ageing. He is also a listed contributor to the Biomarkers of Aging Consortium's roadmap workgroup and co-author of the consortium's 2023 Cell paper on biomarkers of aging.
