Sir Paul Nurse is a British geneticist and cell biologist who shared the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries on control of the cell cycle. He is President of the Royal Society as of December 1, 2025, and is Professor and President Emeritus at Rockefeller University. He was the founding Director and Chief Executive of the Francis Crick Institute and a former Chief Executive of Cancer Research UK.
