Stanley H. Appel, M.D., is a neurologist and ALS researcher based at Houston Methodist whose work has focused on ALS, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and neuroinflammation. He established what became the Houston Methodist Neurological Institute's MDA ALS Research and Clinical Center and has also served as Director of the Ann Kimball and John W.
