Ed Boyden is an MIT neuroscientist and neurotechnology researcher best known for pioneering tools such as optogenetics and expansion microscopy. He is the Y. Eva Tan Professor in Neurotechnology at MIT, an Investigator at the McGovern Institute and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and co-directs multiple MIT neuroengineering initiatives. He is also publicly associated with translational neurotechnology efforts including Cognito Therapeutics and Mindspan Institute.
