Arturo Álvarez-Buylla is a neuroscientist at the University of California, San Francisco, where he is Professor of Neurological Surgery, the Heather and Melanie Muss Endowed Chair, and a principal investigator in the Brain Tumor Research Center. His work focuses on developmental neuroscience, neural stem cells, adult neurogenesis, brain circuitry, and interneuron transplantation. He is also a co-founder and scientific advisor to Neurona Therapeutics, a cell-therapy company advancing treatments for neurological disorders.
