He is a staff writer at The Atlantic, a commentator on PBS NewsHour, founder and chair of Weave: The Social Fabric Project at the Aspen Institute, and senior presidential fellow at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs. He previously spent 22 years as a columnist at The New York Times and earlier worked at The Wall Street Journal.
