Paolo De Coppi is an Italian-born paediatric surgeon and regenerative-medicine researcher based in London. He is Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Nuffield Professor in Paediatric Surgery at the UCL Institute of Child Health, and President of the European Paediatric Surgical Association. He is known for co-authoring the 2007 Nature Biotechnology paper on amniotic fluid stem cells and for 2024 Nature Medicine work deriving fetal organoids from amniotic fluid for prenatal disease modeling.
