Li-Huei Tsai is an MIT neuroscientist best known for research on Alzheimer's disease, brain aging, and gamma-frequency sensory stimulation. She has led major MIT research efforts including the Picower Institute, the Aging Brain Initiative, and the Alana Down Syndrome Center, and she co-founded Cognito Therapeutics to translate MIT neurotechnology into clinical development. On March 20, 2026, MIT announced that she would step down from leading the Picower Institute at the end of the academic year in May 2026 to focus on research and teaching.
