Azra Raza is a Pakistani-American oncologist, hematology researcher, and author best known for her work on myelodysplastic syndromes and early cancer detection. She is the Chan Soon-Shiong Professor of Medicine at Columbia University and directs the MDS Center, where she has built a large longitudinal blood and marrow tissue repository. Raza is also the author of The First Cell and a prominent public advocate for shifting cancer research toward prevention and first-cell detection.
