Matthew 'Max' Krummel, Ph.D., is a UCSF pathology professor and immunologist known for early work on CTLA-4 checkpoint biology and for helping build UCSF's ImmunoX initiative. He co-founded Pionyr Immunotherapeutics in 2015 and later co-founded Foundery, a biotech venture studio and fund focused on translating immunology discoveries into therapeutics. He also serves on the scientific advisory board of Deciduous Therapeutics.
