In NOD-SCID mice, endocrine micro-pancreata showed increased glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in vitro, sustained insulin production, graft vascularization, and improved glycemic control after transplantation. Subcutaneous delivery showed stronger glucose tolerance improvement than intraperitoneal delivery.
