Hal Gunn, Qu Biologics, Canada, presents at the 11th Aging Research and Drug Discovery meeting: Living Longer and Healthier by Training Innate Immunity: Transforming Aging
Dominika Wilczok interviews Dr. Hal Gunn: the founder and CEO of QuBiologics, the tier 3 sponsor of ARDD! 🔴Hal Gunn, MD, founder and CEO of Qu Biologics, is a physician-entrepreneur who has focused his professional life to understanding how to support the body’s innate immune capacity to heal. Dr. Gunn co-founded InspireHealth, Canada’s foremost supportive cancer care centres, to support the health, healing and immune system function of people undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Under Dr. Gunn’s leadership, InspireHealth grew to become a leader in supportive oncology with three centres in Canada, funded by government. Dr. Gunn was awarded the $250,000 Dr. Roger’s Prize for vision, leadership, and integrity in the field of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Gunn founded Qu Biologics to develop his discovery of the Site Specific Immunomodulation (SSI) platform, designed to restore the full depth and breadth of immune function in a targeted diseased organ, and is Qu’s CEO and a membe
This study is designed to test whether QBKPN SSI can improve immune function in older adults, including how well it can protect against respiratory and other infections, whether it improves the body's response to COVID-19 vaccines, what effect it has on maintaining or improving quality of life, activity level and health status and whether it has an effect on glycemic control. QBKPN is a new medication in a class known as Site-Specific Immunomodulators (SSI). SSIs are designed to train and/or improve innate immune function to reduce the risk of infections, improve immune response to cancer, and slow the progression of chronic inflammatory diseases. It is believed that QBKPN SSI can work with the immune system to help protect against respiratory and other infections.
Qu Biologics has developed a transformative first-in-class immunotherapy platform, Site Specific Immunomodulators (SSIs), that arms our first line of defense against infectious and non-infectious threats.SSIs are uniquely positioned to be implemented at the time of first emergence of a novel viral strain to be used both prophylactically and therapeutically. Qu Biologics is seeking funding/collaboration/partnership to rapidly progress QBKPN and its transformational potential into Phase 2 (randomized controlled trial in COVID-19 high risk group). Current trial (2018) for Crohn's http://www.qubiologics.com/clinical-trials/crohns-disease/ All participants get the medicine, not placebo. While it's not known if she's permanently "cured", she's been "Colitis free" and in remission, for 5 years now (as of Oct 2018) after taking Qu Biologics SSI treatment. She's also been off all conventional Colitis medicines & finished her SSI treatment over 4 years ago. This video was filmed July 2013, & she continues to be free of Colitis, now, in Oct 2018. While Bailey had colitis, it's related to Crohn's, where Qu Biologics has focussed much of their effort: Here is a recent 2018 CTV news clip showing SSI success for Crohn's: https://london.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=1459291 https://www.therecord.com/news-story/8807158-local-crohn-s-patient-sees-vast-improvement-with-clinical-trial/ A 2015 Crohn's SSI article in the St Marys Journal Argus: https://www.flickr.com/photos/143782791@N05/30466393742/ A 2015 "The Londoner" Crohn's SSI article : http:
The QBECO-CD-02 trial in subjects with moderate to severe Crohn's disease (CD) is intended to build on past experience with QBECO SSI and further establish the safety and efficacy of QBECO SSI for the induction of clinical and/or endoscopic response and remission. The study will be conducted in three stages; a Lead-in, Main Induction and Main Maintenance .The first 20 patients will be enrolled in the Lead-in study, at approximately 5 study centers in Canada. Subsequent patients will be enrolled in the Main study, which aims to enroll 150 patients. The Lead-in component will be an open-label study to evaluate endoscopic healing endpoints. The Main Induction study will be randomized and placebo-controlled. Participants meeting response criteria following the Main Induction study will be eligible to continue into the Main Maintenance study, remaining on their initially randomized treatment. Participants not meeting response criteria will complete their follow-up and study involvement at the end of the Main Induction.
In this webinar, broadcast on April 5th 2018, Dr. Hal Gunn outlines specifics about Qu Biologics' latest clinical trial of QBECO SSI for remission in adults with moderate to severe Crohn's disease. He discusses the study site locations and participation details as well as answering questions posed by the online audience.
Dr. Hal Gunn presents information about Qu Biologics' latest clinical trial for patients with Crohn's disease. RESTORE is a phase 2 clinical study of QBECO for the induction of maintenance of clinical and endoscopic remission in people with Crohn's disease.
Learn about a new Crohn's disease investigational treatment called site specific immunomodulators or SSIs. Principal Investigator & Gastroenterologist, Dr. Brian Bressler, Qu Biologics' Founder Dr. Hal Gunn, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Simon Sutcliffe answer questions from gastroenterologists about the Phase 1/2 clinical trial. Learn about the clinical trial, how SSIs may work to treat the underlying cause of Crohn's, SSI history, and what trial participants can expect.
Qu Biologics’ CEO, Dr. Hal Gunn talks about his presentation of data from QBECO-01, Qu Biologics’ completed 68-patient double-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial, at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) in Chicago, on May 7th 2017. Digestive Disease Week is the world’s foremost gastroenterology annual conference.
In this educational video, Qu Biologics CEO Dr. Hal Gunn talks about QBECO SSI, a new investigational treatment being tested in clinical trials for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Current IBD treatments are designed to suppress the adaptive immune response that exists in inflammatory bowel disease. QBECO SSI works to restore innate immune system function, thereby clearing the dysbiosis and chronic bacterial infection so there’s no longer a trigger for the overactive adaptive immune response.
Dr. Hal Gunn demonstrates to patients how to administer QBECO SSI, an investigational new treatment for Crohn's disease. Qu Biologics develops Site Specific Immunomodulators (SSIs), a novel class of immunotherapies that aim to 'reboot' the body's innate immune system.
Qu Biologics' CEO Dr. Hal Gunn talks about a defect or deficiency that may underlie Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and how investigational treatment QBECO SSI is designed to restore the body's innate immune function.
Qu Biologics' co-founder Dr. Hal Gunn has dedicated his career to researching and learning about the immune system as it relates to cancer and autoimmune disease. In this video, Dr. Gunn talks about what inspired him to study cancer and immune-related disease, what he discovered during clinical practice about the immune system and how those findings led to founding Vancouver-based biopharmaceutical company Qu Biologics.
Qu Biologics' CEO Dr. Hal Gunn talks about Site Specific Immunomodulators (SSIs), investigational new treatments for autoimmune disease and cancer. Dr. Gunn describes the "hygiene hypothesis" which theorizes that we may be living in too sterile a world and that acute infection helps to stimulate the body's immune system. He speaks about how the body's immune system may respond to acute infection. Further, Dr. Gunn talks about Qu Biologics' research of immune system dysfunction and how SSIs, which are derived from inactivated bacterial components, may stimulate an innate immune response to immune-related diseases, such as Crohn's disease.
Qu Biologics has developed a platform of immunotherapies called Site Specific Immunomodulators (SSIs). SSIs are derived from components of inactivated bacteria, designed to restore the body’s normal immune function to treat cancer and other immune-related diseases. In the context of cancer, Qu Biologics' SSIs are designed to restore immune function and activate the patient’s own immune cells to clear cancer cells.Qu Biologics’ CEO Dr. Hal Gunn how Site Specific Immunomodulators work in the context of cancer treatment.
The purpose of this dose-escalation study is to assess the safety and pharmacodynamics of single and multiple doses of QBKPN SSI, administered subcutaneously to healthy adult volunteers
The purpose of this open-label, dose-ranging, exploratory study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, compliance, mechanism of action and efficacy of QBECO site specific immunomodulation for the induction of clinical response and remission in subjects with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis
Dr Hal Gunn, CEO of Qu Biologics http://www.qubiologics.com, accepts the "Growth Stage Life Sciences Company of the Year" award on behalf of Qu Biologics at the 17th Annual LifeSciences BC Awards, Vancouver, BC, Canada. http://www.lifesciencesbc.ca.
