Develop JOTROL as a potential prophylaxis and/or treatment for Alzheimer's disease or mild cognitive impairment through neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.
Oral JOTROL evaluated in 3xTg-AD mouse studies, including 36-day sub-chronic reversal treatment in 15-month-old male mice and 9-month prophylactic treatment starting at 4 months of age; behavioral, mRNA, protein, cytokine, and AD-related biomarker analyses were performed.
Preclinical mouse study published in 2022; human studies in Alzheimer's patients were described as in development in the first-in-human pharmacokinetic publication.
JOTROL showed increased bioavailability over non-formulated resveratrol and produced AD-related gene expression changes, including Adam10, Bace1, Bdnf, and Psen1, plus changes in inflammatory genes and cytokine levels.
