The 2017 version tightens the biology language: cell-cycle arrest, inflammatory secretions, and the now-standard "zombie cells" label. That is a wording upgrade, not a doctrinal shift. Evidence for belief evolution is thin because the record here is thin: two website snapshots, about a year apart, saying almost the same thing. So the honest read is continuity, not evolution.
