We invited Professor João Pedro de Magalhães to share with us some of the mature applications of cryobiology, the largest challenges that have occurred, and the latest research on cryonics. We also discussed the potential social and ethical problems associated with this field. Professor João Pedro de Magalhães is an expert in cryonics. He is also the Chair of Molecular Biogerontology at Birmingham University, focusing on developing interventions to slow down the aging process. After obtaining his Ph.D. from the University of Namur in Belgium, he did a postdoc at Harvard Medical School. He then established his lab at the University of Liverpool, focusing on genomic approaches to aging.
