The record is thin. In the July 24, 2019 snapshot, there is no visible mission language at all, only Wayback archival metadata for tunetx.com. That means we cannot say what Tune Therapeutics believed publicly at that point, only that this snapshot does not show it. By September 5, 2021, the company had a clear thesis: the epigenome controls gene expression, gene expression determines cell state and function, and that control layer can be programmed without changing DNA sequence. From that, Tune argues that epigenetic programming can reach complex diseases that standard gene and cell therapies have not handled well, because it can tune whole gene networks rather than edit sequence alone. What changed, publicly, is clarity. The 2021 snapshot gives a defined mission and mechanism-level theory; the 2019 snapshot gives us nothing comparable.
