The AI arms race just triggered its next explosive super-cycle, and if you are only watching Nvidia or Micron, you are missing the biggest paradigm shift of the decade. Washington just officially weaponized the CHIPS and Science Act, injecting $2.013 billion in federal funding across nine companies to aggressively build an untouchable domestic quantum computing supply chain. This isn't a long-term research project anymore; it is an active geopolitical sprint. The epicenter of this seismic shift is IBM, a legacy sleeping giant that just completely woke up. Big Blue secured a massive $1 billion federal match to launch "Anderon," America’s very first pure-play 300mm quantum chip foundry. Wall Street responded with absolute euphoria: IBM shares instantly surged over 12%, reversing its entire year-to-date slump in a single session. According to Wedbush’s tech titan Dan Ives, quantum computing isn't going to cannibalize AI—it is the ultimate "derivative play" and a compounding multiplier. Wh

The mainstream financial media is currently obsessed with short-term market volatility and geopolitical noise, but the smartest money on Wall Street is looking at a singular, undeniable data point: the $1 trillion global AI infrastructure build-out. Wedbush’s Dan Ives just dropped a massive bombshell for tech investors, declaring that we are only in the "third inning" of a nine-inning global AI game. Despite the headlines, Ives is projecting at least a 15% upside remaining for the tech sector this year alone. This isn't just blind optimism; it is a thesis backed by a staggering 12-to-1 demand-to-supply ratio for high-end AI chips and a projected tidal wave of capital expenditure that is rewriting the rules of corporate valuation. We are moving past the era of pure speculation and into the era of "AI or Die" monetization. We are currently witnessing a fundamental shift where every $1 invested in AI hardware is triggering a massive $8 to $10 multiplier effect across the broader software
What if an AI could run centuries of aging experiments in a single year, and pinpoint one gene that matches the rejuvenating power of Yamanaka factors — but without the cancer risk? Dr. Daniel Ives is the founder of Shift Bioscience. Shift has built a novel single-cell aging clock that has enabled them to run high-throughput screens to discover genes that regulate aging, with the goal of identifying a therapy to systemically reverse aging. We’ll dive deep into Shift’s latest work on SB000, a germline-expressed gene that rejuvenates cells without inducing pluripotency, and SB101, a pro-aging gene whose inhibition both reverses cellular age and prevents fibrosis, opening a clear path to clinical development. Daniel also shares his philosophy on why reversing aging might be easier than we think, the coming cultural shift when anti-aging drugs become mundane reality, and why he won’t rest until we can double human lifespan. 0:00 Intro 1:37 Deciding to work on aging 5:52 Origins of Shift Bioscience 9:54 Role of mitochondria in aging 13:03 Aging clocks & the meeting that led to XPRIZE Healthspan 18:11 Cracking the single cell aging clock 21:45 The accuracy and role o

Dan Ives, Global Head: Technology at Wedbush Securities, discusses Oracle's share surge after the company's strong outlook for its cloud business. Oracle Corp. shares gained the most since 1992 after the company gave an aggressive outlook for its cloud business, cementing the software maker’s place in the race to support demand for artificial intelligence computing. The stock surged as much as 41% Wednesday morning in New York, bringing its market valuation to $947 billion and co-founder Larry Ellison to within striking distance of Elon Musk as the world’s richest person. AI-related stocks such as chip developer Nvidia Corp. and Asian suppliers also climbed. Known for its database software, Oracle has recently found success in the red-hot cloud computing market and is emerging as a key provider of AI computing capacity, competing against cloud leaders Amazon.com Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Alphabet Inc.’s Google. Earlier this summer, it signed an unprecedented deal with ChatGPT operato
Just about the hottest thing in longevity science right now is partial reprogramming - using Yamanaka factors to rewind the biological clock in our cells. Billion-dollar giants like Altos, Retro and New Limit are betting on it. But in this episode a far smaller player, Shift Bioscience, argues that the field may be looking in the wrong place. CEO Daniel Ives explains how his team used AI-powered virtual cells to uncover a single gene that seems to match OSK-level rejuvenation without the tumor risk that haunts classical reprogramming - and why their just-released data could change the game for aging research. 🔍 In this conversation ✅ Daniel’s journey from mitochondrial PhD work to founding Shift Bioscience. ✅ Why Yamanaka-factor–based partial reprogramming excites the field and why it’s inherently risky. ✅ Epigenetic clocks 101 — Horvath, single-cell versions, and what they really measure. ✅ Building AI “virtual cells” (transformers / GNNs) to run millions of in-silico experiments. ✅

In the wide and complex subject of biological aging, one particular kind of biological aging has been receiving a great deal of attention in recent years. That’s the field of epigenetic aging, where parts of the packaging or covering, as we might call it, of the DNA in all of our cells, alters over time, changing which genes are turned on and turned off, with increasingly damaging consequences. What’s made this field take off is the discovery that this epigenetic aging can be reversed, via an increasing number of techniques. Moreover, there is some evidence that this reversal gives a new lease of life to the organism. To discuss this topic and the opportunities arising, our guest in this episode is Daniel Ives, the CEO of Shift Bioscience. As you’ll hear, Shift Bioscience is a company that is carrying out some very promising research into this field of epigenetic aging. Daniel has a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and co-founded Shift Bioscience in 2017. The conversation high
Shift Bioscience is using deep learning to unlock cellular reprogramming, a powerful biological pathway that can reverse aging and age-driven diseases in the dish but is not yet safe for clinical use. Dr. Daniel Ives, Shift Bioscience With this lecture I would like to describe two journeys, the science journey and the personal journey of the science. The journey of the science starts with hypothesis driven investigation, through crude computational biology, to the first applications of machine learning, to the construction of massive datasets ending with effective cell simulations. The personal journey of the science starts with a singular TED talk by an eccentric Cambridge geneticist, progressing to academia, embracing poor odds, personally funding science, building a team, learning to communicate properly and building the company to make it all real. I received my PhD from the University of Cambridge where I focused on the role of mutations in the mitochondrial genome in rare dise
